***** Creek Camp Out (2010)

July 26th to July 28th

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will be sampling ****** Creek on July 26th and 28th.  If you are available to help or have an interest in getting data/samples from the event please let me know.

Objectives:

1.Sample the creek for Oncorhynchus clarki henshawi alvordensis

2.Determine other species of trout present

3.Map locations of captures and barriers

4.Take photos of gill rakers, lateral lines, and spotting patterns of all trout captured

5.Map habitat types in areas of capture

Directions to CampLocation:

Malheur National Wildlife Refuge will open up **** ******* for the survey team.  It is approximately 13 to 15 miles from the headquarters office and is right on ***** Creek. It is a large meadow and has only a vault toilet.

From headquarters building take the **** *** RD (left on the fork). At .5 mile there is a junction, continue straight.  In 12 miles you will see a sign titled, ‘**** ******* Horse Camp. There will be a corral in the meadow as well.

*Additionally there is a map at the headquarter office if you want to stop and check it.

ODFW will Provide:

Sampling Gear

Tables

Please Bring:

Camping equipment (recommend a tent that can handle high winds)

Personal Gear (sun block, bug spray, hat, fishing equipment, etc)

Lawn chair

Coffee cup

**Expect lots of mosquitos, biting flies, and/or no see-ums.
